Ever since I studied Clinique I have been a huge fan of their products. I always use their makeup and I was thrilled a few years back when they came out with the three step acne cleansing treatment system. It kind of piggy backs off the success of other three step systems like Proactiv and works in a similar way. But sometimes department store products can work better than others. This is the second step in the three step process. It works similar to a toner since you squirt it on a cotton ball and then rub it all over your face. It is supposed to be a gentle formula that exfoliates your skin to remove dead skin cells. It can also reduce the oil on your skin preventing future breakouts from developing and unclog pores.
Keratinization is the process during which your dead skin cells slough off. Then they get trapped in open pores on your skin where oil also accumulates. Bacteria then gets into it and causes pimples and blackheads to develop. If you don’t cleanse your skin you can have a lot of acne. You also want to use products that can close your pores so as not to allow any more bacteria or dead skin cells to get inside the pores.
